Gutmann has some great news.

“Gutmann is a family owned, financially strong and independent company.

Gutmann has a fully integrated value chain for aluminium profiles and accessories in Germany. We develop and produce all products ourselves.

Gutmann is dedicated to develop innovative aluminium systems and technology leader for wood-aluminium cladding systems.”

According to Managing Director Arnd Brinkmann and Sales Director International Projects Max Radt, these are the sentences that describe Gutmann most accurately. Why should this be interesting for you? The answer is: We decided to increase our presence and local support to customers. Arnd Brinkmann, Max Radt and Country Director UK and Ireland Paul Barden, who is now responsible for the UK market, talked about their decision, opportunities, challenges and their personal motivation.

What led to the decision to focus on the UK market?

“We see a growing market for high performing window solutions as well as for renewable and recyclable materials. UK has a long tradition in wooden windows and we believe the market is ready to accept innovative wood-aluminium solutions in order to match with steadily increasing performance requirements”, says Arnd Brinkmann. For Paul Barden, there are several reasons such as the size of the market, a good opportunity to develop innovative concepts, strategic location. And of course, to expand the Gutmann global reach.

What opportunities do you see for the company entering the UK market?

“We see the opportunity to support window manufacturers to successfully enter the wood-aluminium window production with high performing systems. The share of wood and wood aluminium windows in the overall installed window market will show a sustainable growth due to increased awareness of environmentally friendly materials and energy saving solutions”, explains Max Radt. “And the UK offers a business-friendly environment, well developed processes, low taxes, and plenty of support for entrepreneurs”, adds Paul Barden.

What challenges will the company have to face in the future?

Paul has many years of experience in the UK market and explains: “There are many challenges that companies may face in the future in the UK, including economic uncertainty due to Brexit, potential changes in regulations and trade agreements, rising competition, changing consumer behavior and preferences, technological disruption, and the need to adapt to the increasing focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility. Additionally, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic may continue to impact businesses in the UK and create additional challenges in terms of workforce management, supply chain disruptions, and changing market demand.”

Still, the motivation to present the unique wood-aluminium portfolio of Gutmann overweigh. Building relationships, meeting decision makers in the industry and to provide a premium well priced portfolio is the goal. Gutmann is willing to understand you as a customer and prepare our offer and service to the UK market.
